Captain Cliff is one of the most knowledgeable and respected fisherman in the Southeast. He has guided folks to numerous IGFA fly-tackle records, and even holds a few himself. His roots are deeply anchored in shallow saltwater! After decades of success in the Keys as a retail flyfishing outfitter and charter captain, Cliff retired to Tampa and opened a flyfishing shop in Carrollwood. Having never lost his passion for throwing flies at fish, he continued to fish weekly while running these businesses.
These days you can still spot Capt. Cliff on the poling tower guiding his clients to a trophy on fly. While his days on the water are fewer than they used to be, he has accumulated a lifetime of angling experience. Few living souls have fished as many shallow waters with as many high profile clients. FBC is honored to have Cliff on our team, and we've gotten some great "hard labor" out of Cliff over the last few years :)
Cliff has always fished out of a Maverick. He currently runs a 17' V-Hull Master Angler flats boat AND a 17' HPX Kevlar skiff. Both boats are powered by a Yamaha outboard. Cliff attributes much of his success to all of his Mavericks, both past and present. "A man's success is limited to his effort and his tools. While a $1,000 fly rod is nice, the boat you use to get close enough to cast that rod is what REALLY matters".
